One of the healthcare occupations is physical therapy (PT), also known as physiotherapy. Physical therapists use physical assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, patient education, physical intervention, recovery, disease prevention, and wellness promotion to encourage, improve, or restore health. In certain countries, physical therapists are referred to as physiotherapists.

Physical therapy treats diseases or disabilities that impair a person’s ability to travel and perform everyday activities. PTs use an individual’s history and physical examination to make a diagnosis and create a management plan, and they can also use the results of laboratory and imaging tests such as X-rays, CT scans, or MRI findings if appropriate.

Prescription of or assistance with specific exercises, manual therapy, and manipulation, mechanical devices such as traction, education, electrophysical modalities such as heat, cold, electricity, sound waves, radiation, assistive devices, prostheses, orthoses, and other therapies are all common components of PT treatment. Additionally, PTs work with people to avoid mobility loss. before it happens by creating fitness and wellness-oriented programmes for healthy and more active lifestyles, as well as delivering resources to individuals and communities to create, sustain, and regain optimal movement and functional potential throughout their lives.
